1. Klout — 3/5

Klout’s basic and easy to use layout certainly makes the content discovering a lot easier and more simple. Klout automatically detects what you’re already an ‘expert’ by scanning your previous content, but we found it easier to have a really niche keyword to hone in the content you really want.

Klout has a useful feature that highlights the articles hot off the press which shows the newest articles/media created. However, its usefulness drags down the site’s rating Some content wasn’t exactly relevant and often jumps between general categories rather than specific keywords.

2. Scoop.it — 3/5

We don’t like clutter. Scoop’s layout is quite difficult to delve into the most awesome content. We were also disappointed by finding weeks old articles on the second or third page as being first to discuss fresh content is imperative for being an industry leader. However, Scoop certainly picks up the most relevant content and often got it Spot on, therefore earning top marks in the content field.

3. Pocket — 4/5
Pocket is a nifty extension tool that everyone looking to uphold their reputation should consider. Whenever you save an article, website or video that you’ve found on the internet (with just a click of a Pocket button) that directly relates to your brand, Pocket comes up with relevant recommendations to further aid your content search. The more you save, the more valuable your recommendations become. This gets a high rating because of it’s two for the price of one – a tool that bookmarks your favourite articles, and then recommends more from them.

4. Buzzsumo — 2/5
At a first glance, the layout of BuzzSumo makes it easy to see the best content. Each article that is brought up comes up with an interesting record of how many times the article engaged on Facebook, Twitter or Google+. This is certainly gold to marketers. However, seeing as this is a freemium blog post, we have to mention the limitations. Buzzsumo only lets you see 15 articles at a time before asking you to upgrade. Not so cool.

5. Feedly — 4/5
Its minimalist design is a sure winner. Feedly allows you to follow your favourite articles, publications, blogs, Youtube channels and arranges them all neatly in one place. Organisation is Feedly’s best friend and the categories point you perfectly in the right direction when looking for relevant or specific content. Feedly is a sure winner when looking to increase your brand authority.
